Key elements of success
We are used to working flexibly around live campuses and school environments, where we plan and programme our works to minimise disruption to stakeholders and the varying flows of people. Our teams collaborate closely with customers and stakeholders to understand how every campus lives and breathes. This level of collaboration will identify a hierarchy of requirements and how we programme these intelligently together as the project evolves.
Typically, we will ramp up activity during holiday periods to minimise disturbance to the educational timetable. Our programmes often focus heavily on work being completed during the summer recess.
Our curriculum-aligned activities ensure ‘invisible construction’ with little or no impact from our works during key times such as exam periods.
Using standardised designs integrated with modularised elements, education buildings benefit from modern methods of construction (MMC), delivering value-driven solutions for all levels of education facility.
MMC solutions coupled with McLaren’s extensive experience mean we can provide solutions which have evaluated all the advantages and disadvantages of installation, cost and programme outcomes. Site labour is minimised to contain costs as well as optimising logistics and welfare.
We offer early engagement, providing route to market recommendations on procurement strategy and design responsibilities. McLaren are on several regional and national frameworks and can guide you through the early procurement stages, assembling the design teams, advising on buildability, and providing early cost advise. Many of these frameworks offer a compliant and proven Direct Award option which our team can guide you through.
