McLaren Construction completes £11.6m transportation hub for LondonMetric at Eddie Stobart’s Dagenham base and wins £20m contract with long-time customer IDI Gazeley, strengthening its position within the distribution sector.
McLaren Construction’s South division has successfully completed a £11.6m redevelopment project for LondonMetric Property Plc at Eddie Stobart’s Dagenham base. The aim was to improve its operation at the site by creating a modern, fit for purpose distribution facility. The project comprised of two existing low eaves warehouses totalling 150,000 sq ft that were demolished to make way for the new high bay 182,000 sq ft distribution centre. The scheme also included a lorry park to accommodate up to 155 lorries.
The Southern region has also been awarded a £20m contract by long-term customer IDI Gazeley. Project Beta, located in Swindon consists of the construction of a 375,000 sq ft industrial unit, with associated service yards, car parking and landscaping. The 37 week project is successfully under way, completing in late 2018.
