McLaren has announced a number of promotions at main board level and within their London Region, with immediate effect.

Main Board

Maurice Archer – Group Strategic Director

Having spent 15 years as Group Commercial Director, helping to steer the business through a period of continuous and successful growth, Maurice Archer is promoted to the role of Group Strategic Director.

In this newly created role, he will provide a strategic overview of the company’s position in the marketplace, bringing greater focus to work winning in the company’s target sectors.

The role is particularly important as the business continues to strengthen its position in various areas, including the public sector.

David Miller – Group Commercial Director

David Miller is promoted to the Main Board to take on the role of Group Commercial Director. As Regional Managing Director for the London business unit, he has overseen five years of successful growth in the region.

In taking over this role from Maurice Archer, David’s main focus will be the continuous improvement of commercial processes and procedures, to ensure continued success in project delivery.

David will also oversee and be responsible for all the key commercial functions of the business, including strengthening our supply chain, reinforcing our corporate governance, and the commercial training and development of our teams.

Tony Kavanagh – Group Estimating Director

Tony Kavanagh joins the Main Board, having overseen the estimating function at McLaren for nearly ten years. He has been at the forefront of the growth of the company, including the establishment of five regional businesses and an increase in turnover from £150 million to £650 million.

John Butten – Managing Director – Major Projects

John Button’s appointment to the Main Board follows five years forming and leading the Major Projects business unit. Now firmly established as a market leader in the residential sector, this business has secured contracts with prestigious customers, including Quintain, Argent, Muse and Grainger.

Adam Nicholson – Group Pre-Construction Director

After seven years with the business, during which he has led the development of McLaren’s design management and pre-construction processes and helped the business to broaden its customer base and range of projects, Adam Nicholson is promoted to the Main Board.

London business

As a result of the change to David Miller’s role, Darren Gill, who joined McLaren in February, now takes full responsibility for the leadership of the London business.
