OUR PROGRAMME

At McLaren Construction, our Early Talent programme is designed to cultivate the skills and talents of young professionals through three key areas of focus:

Apprenticeships

A great way to access a career in construction is by joining an apprenticeship programme.

As an apprentice you attend college/university to gain your professional qualification, a mentor from within the business is on hand to relate the learning back to the work place. The mentor takes an active approach to guiding you to flourish in their career.

We are here to help you build your career and give you plenty of opportunities to develop and achieve your ambitions, allowing you to create innovative ideas and techniques that can be used on the projects you will work on.

Since 2022, McLaren have supported 83 apprenticeships in both construction and support function related roles.

T Levels

T Levels are a fantastic opportunity for students to gain practical experience and develop the skills needed for a successful career. We are collaborating with the Department for Education, Education Training Foundation and Construction Youth Trust as part of our T-Level Industry Placement Scheme where we support students completing the Design, Surveying & Planning and Onsite T-Level qualifications.

By offering these placements, we provide students with hands-on learning in a real- world environment, allowing them to apply their classroom knowledge to actual projects and tasks.

T-Level students spend 80% of the course in their learning environment gaining skills that employers need and the other 20% in meaningful industry placement, where they put these skills into action.

We are dedicated to providing meaningful and enriching work experience placements at McLaren. Our goal is to ensure that these placements provide substantial learning opportunities and practical experiences.

We offer placements across various departments, ensuring a comprehensive exposure to different aspects of our operations. These departments include Quantity Surveying, Site Management, Design Management and each of the support functions.

By offering placements in these diverse areas, we aim to provide a well-rounded experience that equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their future careers.
