innDex has announced a major milestone in its ongoing collaboration with McLaren Construction, a forward-thinking Tier One contractor operating across the UK and the Middle East. Following a year of successful trials on two major projects, Omega West in Warrington and Horizon 29 in Bolsover, McLaren officially approved a full rollout of innDex’s platform across all new UK projects starting April 2025.
McLaren’s digital team sought a scalable, intuitive solution to manage Access Control, Inductions, Safety Observations, Competency Tracking, and Delivery Coordination. innDex’s agile, user-friendly approach quickly resonated, fitting seamlessly into McLaren’s digital strategy and supporting a connected and compliant construction process.
As confidence grew, the collaboration evolved. McLaren began trialling additional innDex modules to complement its broader digital ecosystem, working alongside platforms such as Asite (common data environment), Complete Competence (competency verification), and PPAC (Right-to-Work and workforce compliance). The combination of these technologies has brought a huge change in how McLaren manages everything from onboarding and communication to operational compliance and site handovers.
One of the key advantages has been innDex’s ability to integrate smoothly with McLaren’s existing infrastructure and hardware, allowing rapid deployment and minimising disruption to ongoing operations.
McLaren Construction’s Senior Digital Implementation Manager, Tom Gothard, says, "innDex offers an incredibly simple and user-friendly interface that makes site management and access control effortless for our teams. Its data-driven approach, combined with an intuitive user interface, ensures smooth deployment and reliable input from site teams. As a modern platform built for integration, innDex enables McLaren to verify workforce competency in line with the Building Safety Act, while also streamlining daily operations and ensuring compliance with our internal policies. Most importantly, it delivers the robust data outputs and connectivity we need to meet client expectations and evolving legislative requirements."
McLaren has now extended innDex’s use beyond UK borders, building on this strong foundation. A turning point was reached with the launch of 2 data centre projects in the UAE, marking innDex’s first deployment in the region and the first international rollout within McLaren's operations.
This international expansion not only reinforces the strong relationship between McLaren and innDex, but also highlights their mutual commitment to innovation and their ability to adapt to new regions, regulatory landscapes, and construction cultures.
Together, they share a vision to drive meaningful change not just within the UK but across the global construction industry, leading the way with smarter, safer, and more efficient ways of working.
Head of SHEQ for McLaren International in the UAE, Jamie Selway, says "Having biometric access control and live dashboards that tells us who is on site, including safety critical workers, is a fantastic addition to our toolkit. Our team can now access all worker induction records, training certificates and asset records directly from their mobile devices. Having this information readily to hand and knowing the data is robust not only supports compliance but also helps with real peace of mind."
