Longwood Place Phase 2 continues on programme

Key points
Following the successful completion of Phase 1 at iQ Longwood Place in Coventry, the project continues at pace, with Phase 2 on track to complete by late Spring 2026.
Nestled within the Westwood Business Park, and spanning nine blocks, phase 2 will add a further 637 bedrooms to the scheme. Construction of the final four blocks - E, F, G and H - are on programme. The scaffold is being dismantled and will be complete across the site by January 2026, with the final building zip-up completing soon after.
Internally, work is progressing across high-quality bedroom fit outs, with packages covering partitions, plastering, plumbing, electrical, flooring, decoration, and bedroom furniture ongoing.
A key planning requirement for the scheme was the use of varied brick colours, textures and bonds across the site. To date, over one million bricks in seven different finishes have been laid using a local subcontractor, PJ Brickwork, meaning that £9m has been re-invested locally.
Beyond construction, the team have actively engaged with the local community and worked closely with Coventry City Council to deliver meaningful social value that has included four apprenticeships, taking part in the ‘Big Build’ to deliver a transformative upgrade to a local school, raise funds for The Lighthouse Charity, and attending local careers events.
Designed with sustainability as its core, the project has used modern methods of construction by installing prefabricated bathroom pods. Across the development 1,147 pods have been installed, saving on both programme and cost.
Once phase two is completed in Spring 2026, iQ Longwood Place will create a student living campus, offering 1,078 high-quality student bedrooms and 131 co-living rooms. The site boasts extensive community, retail, and leisure spaces including an arcade, lounge, karaoke room, a range of study spaces, a gym and landscaped outdoor social areas.
